Confessions of a Serial Procrastinator

Confessions of a Serial Procrastinator

Hey, lovely readers!

I come to you today with a confession: I am the queen of procrastination, the duchess of delay, the empress of "eh, I'll do it later." Remember that ambitious little goal I had to write 30 blog posts before I turned 30? Well, let's say my 30th birthday is coming in around three months, and my blog post count is about as impressive as a snail's marathon time.

Who needs deadlines when you've got an endless supply of excuses and a talent for self-sabotage? In all seriousness, though, I've learned much about myself during this (ongoing) challenge. I've discovered that I'm not just a procrastinator; I'm a perfectionist, a dreamer, and a scatterbrain. I've also realized that blogging isn't just about hitting arbitrary goals; it's about connecting with others, sharing my experiences, and (hopefully) making someone's day a little brighter.

So, Where Am I Now?

In a word: behind. Way, way behind. I've got a graveyard of half-finished drafts, a mountain of ideas begging to be written, and a head full of anxieties about never meeting my expectations. But amidst all the chaos, I've found a glimmer of hope. You see, I recently stumbled upon a lovely little corner of the internet called Nothing Spaces, and their "Life Lately" and "Three Things" series have given me a much-needed dose of inspiration.

Why Nothing Spaces?

Her blog posts are like a warm hug on a cold day—comforting, relatable, and filled with everyday magic that makes me want to grab a cup of tea and curl up with a good book. Their "Life Lately" format is perfect for capturing fleeting moments of joy, frustration, and everything in between, while their "Three Things" series celebrates the simple pleasures that make life worth living.

My (Revised and Slightly More Realistic) Plan

  • Life Lately - I'll share snippets of my life as it happens—the good, the bad, and the downright hilarious. Since I don't post much on my social media accounts, think of it as a delayed documentary of my imperfectly perfect existence.
  • Five Things - I'll highlight five things that make my heart happy, my mind curious, or my stomach grumble. Expect book recommendations, random musings, and a recipe or two.
  • The Wild Card: I'll also be posting in some of my usual blog post formats—marketing insights, reflections, and the occasional rant about the state of the world. Variety is the spice of life, after all.

I may not reach my goal of 30 posts before I hit the big 3-0, but that's okay. I'm learning to embrace the journey, the detours, and the unexpected twists and turns along the way. I'm also learning to be kinder to myself, to forgive my shortcomings, and to celebrate my small victories. After all, life is too short to stress over deadlines and arbitrary numbers.
